grandpa's girl

This girl loves her grandpa! We had SUCH a good week with him, with good family time, good time with friends, and even a day at the beach! We were all thrilled to get Matt back yesterday, but sad to take Grandpa to the airport this morning. Lily and Matt celebrated their reunion with a big Sunday nap!

Lily taught me a lesson today! I needed to take a 5 minute shower, but always feel guilty leaving her while she's awake! So, I gave her a ridiculous amount of entertainment to make myself feel better and took a record fast shower...only to get out and find her fast asleep...guess what? She doesn't care!

Here's some pix of Lily's room...she LOVES the little lantern lights, and falls asleep staring at them. We're so very blessed to have everything we needed and more for her!

Lily and her red little thumb have learned a new habit! One thumb must be in her mouth, and the other hand must be in her hair! Luckily, this is only whenever she is really hungry, or really tired...I wasn't exactly excited to see this cute new trick, but two different women have informed me that "thumb suckers do poorly in school."

If my baby sister, who did this same thing, one hand to her mouth, one hand in her hair, hadn't turned out to be quite a bit more brilliant than me, I might be concerned!

2 months old!

By my calculations yesterday, Lily is now 13.5 pounds and 24.5 inches long...She's our growing girl!

When I took Lily down to the seminary yesterday, I told a group of students standing by Granny's office that it was Lily's 2 month birthday. Immediately they burst into big smiles and wished her a hearty "Bon Fete!" In response she started cracking up, and just grinned and smiled and laughed every time one of them wished her a happy day :) It was so cute!Aunt Lisa and Grandpa got Lily this little cow the day she was born, my mom's absolute favorite...Lily played with it for a long time yesterday, staring and staring and cracking herself up each time she kicked Daisy off her chair.

Took Lily for her first beach trip yesterday before her dad left, and she had SUCH a blast! She loved it....the waves, the sounds, the fresh air...we had a happy baby the whole day, and a tired baby today!
