cook 'em up.

About a week ago, Lily saw five boys fishing.  Ever since then, she's been asking grandpa to please, please, please take her fishing.

"Aren't you going to be scared?" I asked Lil.  "I mean, you're going to touch the fish and throw them back in and everything?"

"NO WAY, Mom!  I'm not gonna throw them back...I'm gonna take them home and cook 'em up!"
So, today after the morning at the duck pond, Grandpa bought her a princess pole, and we were off.

The first few, she was grossed out...but hooked.  "Let's catch number 2!"
 number 2...
 number 3...
and by number 4, she was getting quite bold.

By number 5, she was all slimy and LOVIN' it.
As was Sofie, though what she was really interested in were the hotdog slices winging around :)

By number 6, we were trying to get her to kiss the "Blue Bill" fish, but she wasn't there :)
Every single time she didn't catch anything, she'd say, "That's ok!  Let's get more hotdog!"  I was shocked at how patient and perseverant she was!

 thought about kissing number 7....
 but no :)

SUCH a fun afternoon, really good for her to have some time with grandpa, and great to do something new!  She asked to sleep with her "fish catcher"...and then asked us to take her to dinner somewhere where she could eat her fish...and that's exactly what she did :)

'n all that good stuff!

The girls and I might be on our own a lot lately, but that doesn't mean weren't not having a REALLY good time!  Lily and Sofie both are so much fun!
Catchin' bubbles...

Feedin' Fish
 zoomin' around with great-grandpa

meetin' up with Miss Lisa...
Playin' on every playground ever invented in central Ohio...
 Crackin' each other up...

Playin' with Mommy (who has been wearing lots of hats!)

Snugglin'...
Dressin' up...

 Swingin'...

Peek-a-Boo-in'...

"drivin' the bus"...

Ah, they are ORNERY! girls, but GOOD girls, and so much fun!  I know that one day I will look back and think that these were some of the best days of my life!

here comes trouble...

Man, the girls were reminding me of my sister and I this afternoon, sitting at this same counter as kids, eating lunch. They were CRACKING each other up, talking about who-knows-what and doing whatever they could to make each other laugh.
I hate to say this about my own daughter, but Sofie is...well, she's BAD!  She tries to be bad.  She tries to do what she shouldn't, and then laughs about it hilariously, especially if I'm upset As Lily is always telling her, "you are DESOURD!" (Creole for "make disorder" or "crazy).
And I know she's tiny for her age, but she eats EVERYTHING.

The louder she banged on the bowl, the harder she laughed...

oh man.  These next years are going to be busy.
So blessed that they'll be busy with these two!
